King Street Lemonade x Vermont Juice Company

For 27 years, every cup of our lemonade has been hand pressed and shaken up, made with a little bit of teen angst and a whole lot of love. But for the last few years, many of us at King Street Center have been joking (and dreaming) of bottling up our lemonade. This year, it’s magically become a reality.

Over the past summer, our middle schoolers have been cooking (or shall we say, juicing) up something good with our sweet friends at Vermont Juice Co. Working alongside King Street Center mentor, and Vermont Juice Co. owner, Jehan Dolbashian, the lemaonde crew developed a bottle-friendly recipe, conducted some taste-testing, labeled bottles, and got a chance to explore the world of small business ownership. For a brief shining moment, hand-pressing became a thing of the past as they learned the ropes of commercial grade juicing. Jehan had some dragonfruit around and allowed our kids to make a new kind of juice that was bright pink and beautiful.

The final recipe for Vermont Juice Co. x King Street Center’s Lemonade is alkaline water, lemons (of course), and maple syrup — a new sweetner for us. With a mapley hue, this lemonade packs a punch, quenches your thirst, and delivers a overwhelming sense of love for our community.

We are thrilled at this opportunity to partner with Jehan to finally bottle up such a special part of our history and organization. Thank you, Vermont Juice Co. for taking a dream and making it a reality! A portion of every bottle sold goes directly to supporting King Street Center programming. If you’re looking to fall in love with Burlington all over again, don’t walk, run to 77 Main Street and grab yourself a King Street Lemonade.
