University of Vermont Athletics Reports:
UVM men’s soccer team used Monday’s holiday as an opportunity to give back to the community. The Catamounts spent the afternoon with kids at the King Street Center. (See Link Here.)
The afternoon consisted of various activities using soccer balls including four square, basketball, keep-away and even a few soccer games. “There were a lot of smiling faces at the King Street Center,” head coach Rob Dow said. “It was great to see the team give back on their day off from practice. There is a lot of value to be found in our team developing relationships within the community and I think they experienced some of that today”.
The King Street Center is a member agency of the United Way of Northwest Vermont and serves over 500 children and families each year. The programs range from toddlers to teens, an evening drop-in program for teens, and several mentoring programs for children of all ages.
