King Street Center kids visited Merrymac Farm in Charlotte six times this summer to learn good horsemanship. This means mucking out the stalls, grooming the horses and learning how to ride and trot. Farm owner Era MacDonald and a group of volunteers introduced the youth to the horses, bunnies, kittens and chickens that inhabit the picturesque spot. Eva Sollberger of Seven Day’s Stuck in Vermont visited the group on their last day to see the kids riding and to find out what this experience meant to them!
