The 7th annual Jake Agna Award was presented to Edmunds Middle School 8th grader, Binod Sarki, on October 4 in front of a crowd of peers, volunteers, staff, and a wonderful group of “fans” – teachers from Edmunds Middle School and Integrated Arts Academy. “Since day one,” Director Dave Besserer says, “He is one of the first people to sign up for a new opportunity and always brings his best self to the program. He is thoughtful and always asking questions to further his understanding. Kind and caring to other youth, staff, and especially his family, Binod is committed to bettering himself and others around him.”
The Jake Agna Award was established in 2011 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Jake Agna’s Kids on the Ball program. Modeling all that Jake brings to the tennis court each day, the award is intended to highlight a King Street Center youth who exhibits a high level of leadership, engagement, curiosity, humor, teamwork and respect for self and others.
