Dear King Street Center Friends,
After fourteen years at the helm and nearly three decades of service overall, King Street Center’s Executive Director Vicky Smith recently announced she will retire later this year. Her leadership has been bar none and this news certainly marks a milestone for the organization. She’s shown courage, creativity, and endless commitment to the kids and families of this community. We know you join us in extending our sincere gratitude. She shared with us, “It is an honor to count myself among the many who have been transformed by King Street Center and our compassionate community.”
We look forward to celebrating her upon her official retirement in October 2021 as we also commemorate King Street Center’s 50 years of caring for kids.
The King Street Center Board stands ready to embrace this challenge and will embark on finding Vicky’s replacement with energy, thoughtfulness, and dedication. King Street is such a special place, and we want to find the very best candidate who will ably guide the Center into the future. The Board will engage search firm to help us with the overall process and members, Elzy Wick and Eric Miller, have graciously agreed to co-chair the search committee. King Street Center’s website will be a reliable resource for dates and more specific job posting information in the coming months. In Vicky’s words, “New leadership will bring new opportunities in ways we can’t yet dream.”
Thank you for your steadfast and continued support of this important organization.
Warmly,
Anna Grady, Board Chair
Stacie Fagan, Board Chair-Elect
